On May 21, 2025, the Faculty of Philology will host a research and methodological seminar on “Pre-primary Education Policy and Practice for Disadvantaged Children of Ethiopia”.
The seminar will focus on the policy and practice of pre-school education for disadvantaged children of Ethiopia, which becomes critical in building the child's personal resources for coping with stress and overcoming social and family constraints through the educational work of helping professionals.
The workshop will be conducted in English.
The speaker will be Zelalem Wondimu, PhD student at the University of Colorado (USA), founder and director of About All Children-Africa, nominee of the African Inclusive Literacy Research Award.

Participants of the event will learn:

- What education in enhancing children's subjective well-being provides;
- What guidelines for education in emergencies in Ethiopia have been developed by Zelal Wondimu on the basis of his Erasmus fellowship at the University of Vienna;
- What are best practices for responding to education crises in European and African countries;
- How the principles of commitment to inclusive education and social equity of educational outcomes for vulnerable populations can be applied to enhance the subjective well-being of educational participants in an internationally oriented university.
- Graduate students, teachers, researchers in psychology and pedagogy are invited to participate in the workshop.
